Can I drive without anti-roll bar link?
You won’t damage your chassis or any suspension componentery by not using one. Not using an ARB will cause a rather noticeable handling change though, nothing you can’t drive around if you’re using the car for your daily.
What connects to an anti-roll bar?
An anti-roll bar (roll bar, anti-sway bar, sway bar, stabilizer bar) is a part of many automobile suspensions that helps reduce the body roll of a vehicle during fast cornering or over road irregularities. It connects opposite (left/right) wheels together through short lever arms linked by a torsion spring.
How do I know if my anti-roll bar links are gone?
Gaps in between moving parts from worn-out or perished bushes and some damage to the drop links can cause the following symptoms.
- Clunking and rattling sounds from the wheels and suspension.
- Knocking within the wheels while driving on uneven roads and surfaces.
- Lack of stability while driving.
- Poor handling around corners.

Can you drive a car with a broken anti-roll bar?
There are very few parts within your suspension system that you can safely leave alone for a while after they break or fail. A anti-roll bar is one of them. A broken anti-roll bar allows the car to roll more when cornering, but it’s safe as long as all four wheels remain on the ground.
Does sway bar end link length matter?
The length only matters to the extent that it not cause the sway bar to hit anything when the suspension cycles.
How do you measure a front sway bar link?
to measure length, I would jack up car, place all 4 tires on ramps, disconnect endlinks, hang the swaybar so it’s leveled to the ground, measure length between swaybar bolt hole and suspension bolt hole.
Can you drive a car with a broken drop link?
No. It is not recommended. A damaged or collapsed spring can cause sagging and noise and affect alignment angles. While you can still drive, the ride will be rough and the car will be difficult to control in an emergency.
Do I need alignment after replacing sway bar links?
