The 84 and 85 are identical in every way except the grip thickness. I no longer have my 85 to compare with my 84, but the difference is about 1/4″ more to accomodate the stagger stack 84 mag. It is a decernable difference, but not drastically so. IMHO, if you like the 84 grip, you will also like the 85.
