Can RSPCA tell you who reported you?
This is also known as a Subject Access Request or SAR. This is your right to receive a copy of your personal information held by the RSPCA. Please note that a SAR only allows you to see your own data and not anyone else’s, for example, the person who reported you.
Can you report someone anonymously to RSPCA?
You can report concerns on 0300 1234 999 but we’re unable to accept anonymous reports. The vast majority of calls we have to respond to come in during the day and early evening and we need to make sure we have enough officers available to deal with emergencies in these peak times.
Can the RSPCA bring a prosecution?

How long do RSPCA investigations take?
Complaints will be acknowledged within five working days and then replied to in full within a further 25 working days. Although we reply to the majority of complaints within 25 working days, if the matter is complex and requires greater investigation it may take longer.
Can RSPCA force entry?
The RSPCA will usually attend at properties without notice and should be present with Police officers and a warrant to be able to search your home and land. Without accompanying Police officers and a warrant, you should not allow the RSPCA to enter as the charity has no lawful authority to be there.
What happens when someone reports you to RSPCA?
The RSPCA are obliged to investigate each case reported to them. They will come along and see that the dog is being well cared for and that will be the end of it. Just because they are investigating doesn’t mean anything is wrong they just have to make sure the complaint is unfounded. Don’t worry about it.
What happens when you report someone to RSPCA?

Can RSPCA enter your home?
Society Inspectors have NO special legal powers whatsoever. They have NO special powers to arrest offenders. They have NO right to enter your home to inspect your animals or to demand that you answer any of their questions.
What powers do RSPCA have?
We, unlike the police, have no special powers to gather evidence. But we use the law to ensure any evidence gathered can be used in court. Once the investigation is complete, the file is submitted to our prosecutions team, who consider whether the case ought to be prosecuted.
Can RSPCA take you to court?
The RSPCA will apply to the court for all the costs of the case (including the boarding of any animals still owned by you). The court will decide how much, if any, of these costs you should pay.

No matter what the R.S.P.C.A. may say to you, do not be tempted to let them in without proper authority. No legal seizure of your animals can take place unless entry to your premises has taken place with proper authority.
