Re: SNES can now play NES games! Big N could have done this in hardware like the Super Game Boy, putting a special chip which combines all in-house and third-party MMCs in one to play all official released games. Of course this is possible with an Everdrive/SD2SNES which has the horsepower to do this.

The SD2SNES is an open-source project and can be made by anyone. That being said, there are a few low-quality clones out there with problems that range from gitchy use, to no MSU audio, to it not working at all. I strongly recommend you only purchase an FXPak Pro from a reputable reseller, such as Stone Age Gamer.

Save states are currently only available on games that do not use expansion chips. Save states are not currently expected to be fully compatible with 100% of games. If you find a game that does not work with save states, please report – I will be working to improve compatibility.

Download the zip file and extract to your SD card. Make sure the directory structure from the zip file is preserved, so you end up with a ‘sd2snes’ directory in the root of your SD card. Insert the card into your sd2snes and turn on the SNES.

The SD2SNES is not produced by ikari_01 anymore, but do not worry. Krikzz, known for the Everdrive series of Flash Kits, has taken over the production and distribution of the cart. This means that the cart is available in almost all stores selling the Everdrives and the build quality will be similar to Everdrive series.
