I managed to re-record over and over on a SONY PDV DVCAM tape about 20 times before problems. However the SONY Premium (MiniDV) could have issues after 3 to 5 times. The cheaper Maxel and Panasonic Tapes (MiniDV) (at least in the SONY deck) could problems even on the first record.
