Does seachem Purigen come with a bag?
Does this purigen come in a bag that is ready to be placed into the filter, or do I need to buy a separate filter media bag for it? Answer: Yeah it does come with the Seachem Purigen in a the bag so you can just rinse it under tap water and place it straight into your filter.
How long does a bag of Purigen last?
On Seachems forum, there rep usually seems to say it will last 3-6 months between regeneration.
Can you use too much Purigen?
Purigen® will never become toxic through overuse, but there are several situations under which it is beneficial to allow some organic waste to build up in the aquarium.

Use in a fine mesh (180 micron or less) filter bag such as Seachem’s The Bag™. For best results, Purigen® should be placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it. It may be used in a canister filter, media chamber, box filter, or any high flow area of a trickle filter.

Seriously, once it purigen starts getting discolored, heading to brown, then you know it is time to recharge. I normally will change my CPE every 4-6 months. Depends on test results.
Does Purigen make water clear?
The first two are day one putting Purigen in my filter and tap water from my well in my tank, the next is just three days later. It cleared up all of my “new tank” cloudiness!
Does Purigen remove beneficial bacteria?
Using Purigen® will not, however, “starve out” beneficial bacteria colonies. For one thing, organic waste will be utilized or absorbed by whatever encounters it first. If it encounters a bacteria colony first, it will enter the nitrogen cycle and be unavailable to the Purigen®.
