How do digital downloads for the 3DS work?
For Nintendo 3DS game purchases, you’ll need to link your Nintendo Network ID (NNID) to your Nintendo Account before you can complete your purchase. The games you buy will be automatically downloaded to the system that is associated with your Nintendo Account (Nintendo Switch) or NNID (Nintendo 3DS).
