Can you drive a Vespa on the highway?
You cannot drive anything less than 150ccs on the highway, so unfortunately, while street legal and requiring the same license to drive, you cannot drive all Vespas on the highways and freeways here. It is perfect for booting around town, though!

However, many vintage Vespas do not have a battery and may only have a 6-volt lighting system. These lights are not very bright. If your Vespa is old enough to not have a battery, the light will dim when the engine is idling. As you rev the engine, it will produce more power and your light will be brighter.

What is the Piaggio Vespa 946?
In occasion of the 150th anniversary of Italian union, Piaggio has proposed this special version, with a re-designed saddle but with the same “Vespa experience”. The Vespa 946 is a scooter announced by Piaggio, to be sold under their Vespa brand starting in July 2013.
What happened to the Piaggio Vespa?
The factory was demolished in 2001. Between 1956 and 1966 an unauthorised, reverse-engineered version of the Vespa was built and sold in the USSR by Vyatka. This was withdrawn after protests by Piaggio.
