What is astalos?
A large and vicious flying wyvern, Astalos is one of the four flagship monsters for Monster Hunter Generations. Astalos has dark green plating over its body and wings resembling the translucence of an insect. It can harness the power of lightning against its foes and is quite aggressive.
What is astalos based on?
Astalos’ design is heavily based on insects. Its tail comes from Dragonflies and its comb, or horn, comes from Treehoppers. Astalos was created after pterosaurs. Astalos can electrically charge its head, wings or tail when attacking to increase the power of its attacks.
Where can I find astalos?
Astalos will be available at the beginning of the volcanic area. You have to progress playing to unlock the volcanic region – Terga. As you progress you will bump into Astalos. So this monster is kind of unmissable in Monster Hunter Stories 2.

What does the astalos look like?

How do you beat astalos?
The Astalos will begin by using a Technical Attack, so you’ll want to use a Power Attack. After a few turns of fighting by yourself, Cheval will come in and help. When you’ve done enough damage, the Astalos will become electrified. Swap to Speed Attacks as the Astalos will now begin to use Power Attacks.
Is Blast weak to Fatalis?
For the first phase, you’ll need to solo it before you can call in your friends for backup. Fatalis has a big weakness to Dragon element weapons, and Blast weapons are also another solid choice if you hope to finish the battle.
Why is Fatalis so strong?
The Fatalis is a powerful, unnatural beast. Fatalis’s scales are extremely thick, while its shell is very durable. This is due to Fatalis melting the armor of its fallen prey on its shell, increasing its protection against some attacks.
What is a Mizutsune?
Mizutsune’s Japanese name, Tamamitsune (タマミツネ), is a mix between Tamamo-no-Mae (a legendary fox spirit from Japanese mythology) and kitsune (kanji: 狐 / kana: キツネ) meaning “fox” in Japanese. Its English name combines the Japanese words mizu (kanji: 水 / kana: ミズ), meaning “water”, and kitsune.
