The series was created for Dennis Waterman after his success in The Sweeney, and starred as Arthur’s loyal bodyguard Terry McCann until he quit in 1991. Cole admits he has never known the truth behind Waterman’s decision to leave, although he says he suspects it was because of pressure from his third wife Rula Lenska.
