Why did you choose Warlock over mage in vanilla?
I remember trying both mage and warlock out in Vanilla. Warlock gets quests to learn how to summon and control beings from the twisting nether. I chose warlock after a little while. I especially appreciated the lore given to us in the quests for dreadsteed and doomguard. Bliz can remove the quests, but they can’t make me forget.

Locks currently lack mobility or control abilities, even after talenting. Mages on the other hand hanve plenty of defensive and offensive CDs, which makes it a lot of fun. In terms of competitiveness in a pve scenario, I think lock is better, except in M+. I tried mage, I think they’re nice but feel too simple at the end.
